Notes: Beau-Frèro is named after my (French) Brother-in-Law (that’s what Beau-Frère means – “beautiful brother” – brother-in-law. Cute, huh?), on whose birthday it was brewed. I brewed it with a Trappist single in mind, re-pitching Ardennes yeast after brewing a strictly Belgian Pilsner SMASH Trappist Single. OK, not “Trappist” technically, but “Abbey” – considering they were brewed in Seattle. But I added some malty depth, as my main beer critic found the TS a bit too “single-minded”. But we also wanted it to be not too strong, because, well, one likes to have more than one...
